Any Jackson Chaturanga proposes to play with volume, time, movement, and mass as materials for collective action. A gym as a site of training activates anticipation: bodies in preparation, contained intensities, undertakings about to unfold. Anticipation inhabits the body before it becomes event, a form of knowing that arrives ahead of language. It is like already being somewhere without having arrived yet. Through choreographies of individual and collaborative works,
by and with Any Jackson Chaturanga modulates rhythms and presences, moves the limits between permission, intention and urgencies, and attempts to transform what can be made audible, visible and palpable within (pre)conceived structures. How is it possible to be loud without being allowed?
