Who Is Afraid of Ideology? Part 3: Micro Resistencias documents the efforts of the Indigenous Pijao women in the Tolima region of Colombia to preserve their ancestral knowledge of cultivation. The women interviewed by Arsanios seek to restore balance to the ecosystem, which has been disrupted by a series of extractive policies over time. The film underlines the importance of natural resources and the principle of the commons, in which each individual has the right to agricultural autonomy. Through accounts of forced displacements, land grabs, and acts of violence – such as the assassination of Indigenous activist Mariana, who led an organisation for the defense of rural communal land ownership – the artist exposes the brutality endured by the inhabitants of the region. Sounds, landscapes, and portraits are interspersed to construct a complex narrative of local resistance against crimes carried out by the Colombian political establishment, increasingly inclined towards colonial and capitalist tendencies.
